As a former bank employee, I'm very glad to see that I'm not the only one that was disheartened by the banking system. We're in a recession for crying out loud, and still bank employees are pressured by upper management into making referrals for extra bank accounts customers clearly don't really need. It was part of my job to talk someone into needing something they really didn't need. If I was in their shoes, I wouldn't go for it, but I was trained to frame the product or service in such a way that the customer believed that they needed it. At the end of the day, bank employees are nothing but dollar signs. I'd much rather focus on providing quality customer service than offering customers solutions they really didn't need to be adding to their financial portfolio.
